In this Easter 2026 sermon, “Resurrection Eyes,” based on Luke 24:13–35, the message centered on the life-changing importance of Jesus’ resurrection. Through the story of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, the sermon showed how their hope had been shattered because they misunderstood what kind of Redeemer Jesus came to be. They expected political and national deliverance, but Jesus came to bring redemption for all people through His death and resurrection. Before opening their physical eyes, Jesus first opened the eyes of their hearts through Scripture, helping them see that God’s plan had been there all along. The sermon challenged listeners to examine whether they have placed God inside their own expectations and invited them to respond in faith, letting the truth of the risen Christ move them to both surrender and action.
